Investigating internet related crimes can be a daunting task for most agencies. Untrained personnel, limited investigative resources, non-existent policies/procedures and a lack of in-house subject matter experts are all contributing factors leading to an organizational unconscious incompetence. In other words, a lack of online situational awareness. This course will provide the participant with the knowledge to cultivate valuable new skill sets in order to evolve with technological change, conduct online criminal investigations, engage in covert online investigations, and locate track and apprehend criminals blending yesterday’s, today’s and tomorrow’s technology.
This information is relevant for agency command staff as well as the internal affairs detective or supervisor.
